Webinar: "Building Better Jobs in an Age of Intelligent Machines"

David Autor, professor of economics at MIT, participated this past Friday, December 18 at noon in the webinar “Building Better Jobs in an Age of Intelligent Machines”, organized by the Faculty of Economics and Business of Universidad de Chile along with the MIT Sloan Latin America Office.
 
David Autor is an expert in the labor market and the social impacts of technological change and globalization.
 
In this meeting he discussed how automation and international labor trade will influence the future of the labor market.
 
The current dean of FEN and former president of the Central Bank of Chile, José De Gregorio, along with Roberto Rigobon, a prominent MIT fellow, moderated the event.
 
This cycle of webinars has included guests such as the Economics Noble Prize winners Esther Duflo, Jean Tirole; Carmen Reinhart, Chief Economist of the World Bank Group; Daron Acemoglu, Professor of Economics at MIT; Alejandro Werner, director of the Western Hemisphere Department of the International Monetary Fund (IMF); Sebastián Edwards, professor of International Economics at UCLA; and Eduardo Engel, director of Public Space and FEN fellow, among others.
