In 2020: Strong commitment to gender equality and academic excellence

In order to promote gender equality, during this 2020 admission process, the School of Economics and Business of the Universidad de Chile will implement a Priority Entry Program for Gender Equality in the Commercial Engineering degree.

FEN wants to attract more women into its undergraduate degrees because, although progress has been made in gender equality, there is still a long way to go. Various studies have shown that women in FEN have higher Grade Point Averages and graduate before their male peers, but often miss classes for multiple reasons. As such, it became necessary to promote female admissions processes with more focused and tailored actions. The 2020 admission process will have 40 additional places for women who are on the Commercial Engineering waiting list and who have applied for this degree within the first two university preferences.
